When you’re in Dangriga, make a point of stopping into the Pen Cayetano Studio Gallery. Here you’ll find some of the finest handmade artworks, crafts, and textiles in Belize, all for sale and housed in an early colonial home.

Owner Pen Cayetano is one of Belize’s preeminent musicians and artists. With his family band The Cayetanos, he created music that blends traditional rhythms with modern instruments.

Cayetano is also a talented visual artist who has created murals, paintings, sculptures and other artwork that draw on the colorful heritage of his Garifuna roots.

The entire Cayetano family is a creative force to be reckoned with. Pen’s wife Ingrid creates unique artwork, needlework, and handmade instruments. In the studio, you’ll find her homemade jellies and teas for sale. Their daughter Mali has written several children’s books that illuminate the Garifuna cultureof her family’s heritage. All of these items are on sale at the Pen Cayetano Studio Gallery. You’ll also find souvenirs, musical recordings, postcards, and posters.

The Pen Cayetano Studio Gallery is located at 3 Aranda Crescent in Dangriga, the cultural capital of Belize. Dangriga is also a popular area where you’ll never run out of things to do or see.
