On June 4, 2017, the inaugural Southwest Airlines flight from the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood Airport (FLL) landed in Belize City (BZE). The new Fort Lauderdale-Belize route is Southwest’s third non-stop route to Belize City. Southwest first began flying to Belize from its hub at the Houston Hobby Airport (HOU) in 2015 and then added a second route from Denver (DIA) in March of 2017.
As part of its expansion plans to more international markets, Southwest is currently offering fares to Belize as low as $79 per segment. According to Southwest’s website, round-trip fares from Fort Lauderdale to Belize City begin at around $400. The flight departs Fort Lauderdale weekly at 11:30 AM and arrives in Belize City at 11:45 AM local time, a travel time of just over two hours.
