The Belize Tourism Board has invited world class athlete and gymnast Simone Biles to Belize after the Olympics game.
Yesterday, Biles took home gold for the United States in the individual all-around gymnastics final and shortly thereafter, the Belize Tourism Board tweeted, “Congrats @simone_biles! Belize is so proud of you. We’d love to host you and the entire #FinalFive on a vacation once you’re ready to relax.”
Biles, then tweeted back to the Belize Tourism Board, “My second home, you betta Belize we’re coming.
Simone’s mother, Nellie Biles is originally from Belize and, thus, Simone has Belizean citizenship.
Last year in June, Biles visited Ambergris Caye and stayed at Ramon’s Village where she celebrated the wedding of her older brother.
The management of Barefoot Rentals salutes and congratulates Simone Biles on her big win at the Olympics and hopes that she can vacation in the Placencia Peninsula which is known for having the best beaches and a plethora of adventure activities in the country.
The Placencia Peninsula is also home to Belizean Olympian, Kaina Martinez who resides in Seine Bight village but is currently studying in Texas, USA on a scholarship. For those who do not know, Martinez is the reigning 100m champion and record holder for Central America, a record she has held for over four years, and which she broke recently at the Central American Championships in El Salvador, where she won gold in the 100m, the 4x100m relay, and silver in the 200m.
