Traveling to Belize from the West Coast is about to get more convenient, thanks to United Airlines’ new nonstop flight from San Francisco International Airport (SFO) to Philip Goldson International Airport (BZE) in Belize City. Scheduled to launch on December 21, 2024, this new route opens up a gateway to Belize’s lush landscapes, vibrant culture, and endless adventures for travelers in the San Francisco Bay Area.
The Belize Tourism Board announced that the new flight will operate seasonally on Saturdays from December 21 to January 4, 2025, and again from March 8 to March 29. From April through mid-August, the service will offer Saturday departures from San Francisco and Sunday returns from Belize. This marks the fifth U.S. city United Airlines connects directly to Belize, joining Houston, Newark, Denver, and Chicago in offering travelers a seamless journey to this tropical paradise.
Anthony Mahler, Belize’s Minister of Tourism and Diaspora Relations, highlighted the significance of this new connection, saying it opens “a world of possibilities for travelers seeking adventure, relaxation, and cultural immersion.” With the flight expected to boost tourism arrivals from the Bay Area, it strengthens the relationship between Belize and the United States, making it easier than ever for travelers to explore Belize’s natural wonders. Travelers can expect to pay one-way fares starting at $542, with flights operated on a Boeing 737 aircraft. Ivar C. Satero, director of San Francisco International Airport, celebrated the addition of this route, noting that it enhances United’s diverse portfolio of destinations from SFO.
