Currently, all international flights into Belize land at the Philip S.W. Goldson International Airport (BZE) located in Ladyville, approximately 10 miles from Belize City. Often referred to as just the “international airport” or the “Belize City international airport,” the Philip Goldson International Airport is the primary gateway to the country for most international visitors.

Note: There is a domestic airport in Belize City officially called the Sir Barry Bowen Municipal Airport (TZA) but widely known as the “Belize City Municipal Airport.”
Belize City proper is a major transportation hub with bus service to anywhere in the country and water taxi service to nearby islands.
Overnight parking at the airport is $18 Belizean dollars ($9 USD) per night.
Residents of Belize must pay a departure tax of $35 Belizean dollars. Non-Belizeans over the age of 11 are required to pay a departure tax of $59.25 U.S. dollars. The departure tax cannot be paid in Belizean dollars and only cash is accepted.
