I am grateful for his caring and compassion for the job! The entire tour was stunning - from riding horses through the rainforest to jumping of waterfalls. Kim KucinskasJuly 29, 2026When I asked my kids what their favorite part about our trip to Belize was they all said “horseback riding on the beach!” Our group of three adults and three kids, aged 8,11, and 12 had a blast. It was my 8 year olds first time riding a horse. Our guide held the reins the first half of the journey and then confidently handed them over to her and she rode back on her own. It’s hard to describe her pride and excitement! I also appreciated tour guides insight and willingness to share his knowledge of the history and flora of Belize. Definitely recommend!Posted on Google
Ellee BelangerJune 27, 2026We had the best time riding with Sand & Saddle Stables for the beach horseback riding. The guide was very accommodating and caring of our group of 3 women and 2 girls. He guided us along the beach to a resort on the beach where we got to hop in and cool off before riding back. The guide was very knowledgeable about the fruits and plants in the area and you can tell he takes great care of all of the horses. 11/10 recommend!!!Posted on Google

It is a belizian family owned business I don’t want to use the term “small business” because they are more capable of anything then most small businesses. They will curate an entire itinerary for your trip if you would like. They can also provide shuttle and golf cart services. Horse back riding with an ETHICAL AND CARING STABLE + Full tours and dive shop hookups. If there is something in Belize they can’t do - it’s not in Belize. Many tours include lunch, and transportations. You will also experience the best guide possible who will do every activity with you and educate you. I cannot express how genuinely grateful I am for Mr Ian and his family for the services they provided for me and my friends and for all of you that come visit Belize! You will make stops you didn’t expect and get the most authentic version of Belize if that’s your style going into the rainforest or spelunking or barefoot services will cater to a more vacation vibe and make you feel comfortable sipping a marg in the pool. Tiffany DenhamJune 7, 2026We highly recommend Barefoot Services! Shemar picked us up at our resort and dropped us off at Maya World River Tubing. He waited on us there, then took us over to Mayan King Waterfall for lunch and a swim at the falls. Lunch was amazing! The best Belizean style lunch we've had in a tour so far. The waterfall was gorgeous and we had a blast swimming in the refreshingly cool waterfall pool. We had such a relaxing day and Shemar was a great host. Highly recommend!Posted on Google

My 3yr old son rode with me and my daughter (5 year old) rode a horse by herself for the first time. Jimmy (our guide) kept my daughter close to him and gave her directions on what to do. (She loved it) The horses were so calm and the views were great! We even took the horses into the ocean.Posted on Google

No, not if you’re a citizen of the United States, Canada, the European Union, CARICOM nations, and several other countries. You will, however, need a valid passport with at least six months left before it expires.
Tipping is always appreciated for concierge services and at restaurants. Tipping 10% is customary for good service while 15-20% is normal for exceptional service.
All of the finer hotels, resorts, and lodges will offer high-speed, wireless internet. Smaller, boutique hotels and offshore locations may only offer Wi-Fi in common areas. While internet access is less prevalent in rural areas, most visitors come to Belize to get away from the hectic demands of modern life and to enjoy the unspoiled, natural landscape and wildlife.
If you have an unlocked smartphone that uses SIM cards, you can purchase a pre-paid SIM card from one of the two Belizean carriers: Digicell and Smart. Most visitors, however, prefer to rely on wireless internet hotspots or just leaving their phone in their suitcase to focus on relaxing and enjoying their vacation.
Belize uses the same voltage and plugs as the United States and Canada, so you will not need a power adaptor unless you’re coming from Asia or Europe.
Generally, the bathrooms in Belize use the same western-style flushing toilets as you’d find anywhere in North America. However, in some rural areas, outhouse style bathrooms are all that is available.
Although tap water in Belize is safe for showering, drinking it may disturb foreign visitors. All visitors are recommended to solely drink bottled water which is widely available.
All finer establishments will accept credit cards, particularly Visa and MasterCard with less coverage for Discover. Cash, however, is universally accepted, and American dollars are gladly accepted everywhere in the country. The American dollar is permanently pegged to the Belize dollar at 2:1, making it easy to understand prices.
The larger cities will have ATMs, but these may charge withdrawal fees. To find out if your card will work in Belize, it is recommended that you check with your home bank.
Travel insurance is always recommended in case something unforeseen occurs.
