This full-day experience from Placencia takes guests beyond the usual sightseeing route and deep into the rainforest of Southern Belize. The journey combines comfortable road travel, off-road jungle exploration, creek and river crossings, rainforest hiking, swimming at Davis Falls and lunch surrounded by nature.
Davis Falls is not a place travelers simply stumble upon while exploring Belize. Reaching this remote waterfall requires advance planning, the right transportation and local arrangements, making the journey itself an important part of the experience.
The adventure begins with pickup from the guest’s hotel in Placencia in a comfortable tour vehicle, such as an SUV or minivan.
After approximately one hour of driving, guests transfer to an off-road vehicle for the next stage of the journey. This is where the experience changes completely.
For approximately 30–40 minutes, the route travels deeper into the rainforest along a rugged jungle trail, with multiple creek and river crossings along the way. This portion of the journey provides an opportunity to experience an area of Belize that most visitors never reach.
Once the off-road route ends, the adventure continues on foot.
After the off-road journey, continue on an approximately 30-minute rainforest hike to Davis Falls. Expect natural, uneven and potentially wet terrain, so comfortable walking shoes with good grip are recommended.
At Davis Falls, enjoy time to take in the remote rainforest setting and cool off with a swim. Limited access helps keep this beautiful waterfall away from the more heavily traveled visitor routes.
After enjoying the waterfall, relax over lunch in the rainforest before beginning the return journey.
