T7A – Monkey River and Manatee Watching
$72 per person
Belizeans have a wry sense of humor, and the Monkey River is aptly named for it is home to some of the largest concentrations of indigenous black howler monkeys in the country. The tour begins with a 30 minute picturesque boat ride from south of Placencia, towards the Monkey River where the adventure gets more exciting as you head up the river and get that Wildlife Experience.
Along the way, participants will likely see Belizean wildlife, including crocodiles sunning themselves on the banks, giant iguanas perched on tree branches, dozens of colorful bird species, and, of course, troops of monkeys.
The tour includes lunch in Monkey River Village. The tour will also stop off for a short expedition through the bush to learn more about the plants and animals of Belize.
