If you’re heading to Belize soon, there are two adrenaline-pumping adventures that you should definitely try:
Zip Lining
Zip lining is the sport of sailing through the jungle along a series of steel cables. Although it is perfectly safe, the speed and thrill of seeing nature from a bird’s-eye view is guaranteed to get your heart pumping.
One of the best places to enjoy zip lining is in the Mayflower Bocawina National Park in southeastern Belize. The zip line runs along a two-mile (three-kilometer) course located in one of the most pristine areas of the rainforest. And after an exciting time on the zip line, you can your way to a waterfall to enjoy a refreshing swim.
The Mayflower Bocawina zip line course has 14 platforms with nine separate runs. Completing the entire length of the course takes at least two hours. Heights achieved range from 100 feet (30 meters) to more than 1,000 feet (300 meters). Well-trained safety experts carefully monitor all activities.
Rules: Participants must be at least seven years old and weigh at least 80 pounds (36 kg). Participants younger than seven and/or weighing less than 80 lbs can ride the zip line in tandem with a guide. There is no maximum weight for riding the zip line but the maximum waist size that can be accommodated by the safety gear is 42 inches (106 cm).
Waterfall Rappelling
After rappelling, zip-line across the jungle canopy in the Bocawina National Park.
Rules: No experience is necessary, but a courageous mindset is required. Bocawina is easy but Antelope is a bit challenging. You must have some fitness level to comfortably do and enjoy the Antelope fall hike.
